Closed Beta TipsNow that you have all settled into the beta, there are probably quite a few things you are still missing out on. Worry no more as we run down some of the coolest feature in Battle of the Immortals that you may not be aware of!
Double EXP
The Double EXP feature is a great boost while leveling. Each week, the player is allotted 300 minutes worth of Double EXP. Simply click the Dbl icon to the left of the mini-map and you will have the option to turn on Double EXP. Certain quests and events in the game will allow you to add more Double EXP time to your character. It even doubles the experience gained for your pets!
Note: Double EXP only affects EXP gained via killing monsters.
Events Window
Battle of the Immortals offers a variety of events that provide players with plenty of EXP and gear. To check out what types of events are going on, simply click on the Major Events tab found on the bottom of the mini-map.
The events window will show the following information:
Estimate: The value of the rewards for the quest.
Time: When the event occurs.
Event Name: The name of the event.
Realm: The realms which the event is active on.
Level: The level requisite of the event.
Rounds: How many times the event can be done as well as how many times you have completed it.
Status: Your current progress with that event.
Note: The Current Time displays your local PC time, not the server time. All times for Closed Beta are set to Eastern Daylight Time.
Where are my quests?
Having trouble finding your next quest? Bring up your quest log (Hotkey "Q") and click on the "Available" tab. There you will find a list of available quests for your level. You can even check the Objectives section of the quest and auto-route straight to the quest giver!
Target Nearest Mob
If you are having trouble targeting a monster, try using the tilde Key (~). The tilde key will help you target the mob closest to you with ease!
Talking to NPCs
Are the crowds keeping you down? Trying to talk to Mistra but too many players around? Press the F12 key to hide all Player Characters, so you can easily speak with an NPC! The days of players hiding NPCs are over!
Looking for Group
Having trouble looking for a group? When you are level 20, you have the ability to speak to all players within your current realm. Type the pre-fix "/w", and then your message and you will broadcast the message to everyone in your realm. You'll find that party for Knight's Jail in no time!
Friends stick together
Now that you've found a group, what better way to work together than to be friends! When everyone in the party is friends with each other, you and your group will both an offensive buff, and a defense buff! This will help you and your new found friends tackle those hard dungeons and give the Dragon Emperor the beating he deserves.
Linking Location
Tired of having a straggler in your group not know where to go? With the new "Link Location" feature, your party will never be lost again! Simply press the "Enter" Key to activate the chat box, press "Shift + Left-Click" on the ground of where you currently are, and then press the "Enter" key again. This will link your current coordinates into chat, and your group members can simply click on the link to auto-route to your location.
Mounts - Not just for looks
Sure, mounts look cool and get you to places faster, but did you know that they also help you in battle? Every time you get on your mount, you will acquire a special buff. This buff will stay on for 30 minutes after you get off your mount! Try different types of mounts to get the buff that best helps your character!
Rankings
Want to know how you're doing versus the rest of the world? Pressing the "B" key will bring up the rankings page. Players are ranked upon many different categories such as levels, Reputation, PvP, and Popularity! You can even right click on any player who is online to view their equipment and gear.
